Daphne is a decisive leader with a proven record of aligning people strategy with organizational objectives, resulting in measurable improvements in employee engagement, retention and diversity. As a trusted business partner and advisor to the executive team and the board of directors, she excels in building inclusive cultures and developing talent during periods of high growth and transformative change.

She is deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Daphne has consistently championed initiatives that promote these values, ensuring that all staff can thrive and contribute to their fullest potential.

In her previous role as Senior Vice President, People and Culture at Start Early, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing early learning, Daphne supported the organization’s rapid growth by ensuring quality hires, creating a superior employee experience and upholding a steadfast commitment to its mission. She introduced a transparent capability model that guided the employee journey and established a fair compensation methodology to ensure equitable pay. Under her leadership, talent mobility expanded, internal promotions more than doubled and Start Early was recognized as an employer of choice, winning a 2021 Gold Stevie Award for Great Employers.

At Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization, Daphne served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. There, she developed the organization’s first internal leadership development program and executive variable pay plan, significantly increasing internal promotions and enhancing employee engagement.

In addition to her professional achievements, Daphne has served on various boards, including 501(c) Agencies Trust (where she also served as Board Chair) and Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV).

Born into a family of educators, Daphne values lifelong learning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Northwestern University and resides in Chicago with her husband.
