Family Child Care Network Impact Study
Research scientist Juliet Bromer presented findings from her recent study on family child care networks to more than 80 child care program administrators and directors.  The presentation offered insights and policy recommendations for improving the quality of home-based child care through staffed support networks.

New report on Chicago early childhood programs released
City programs doing well, looking to improve outcomes for children
Chicago’s early childhood education programs are improving children’s readiness for kindergarten, making the biggest gains with at-risk children, according to a new study released today. The report summarizes findings from the Chicago Program Evaluation Project (C-PEP), a collaboration between the Herr Research Center, Chicago's Office of Child and Youth Services, and Chicago Public Schools.

Herr Research Center conducting statewide evaluation of early childhood programs  
Illinois Birth to Five Evaluation
The center was selected by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to study the effectiveness of its Early Childhood Block Grant programs. These programs serve initiatives for children birth to age five and their families, including Illinois' Preschool for All and Prevention Initiative programs.

Highlights of first policy roundable available 
How Can Work-Based Policies Help Children?
This event gathered policymakers and program administrators from three states to explore how separate work-based policies to support low-income families can work collectively to improve children's lives. Powerpoints are available here and video will be posted soon.
