Overview
Infant mental health—promoting mental, emotional, and social development during infancy—has become one of the most important fields in early childhood.
Erikson’s certificate program prepares experienced infant/family specialists and mental health professionals who will work to support the emotional health and development of infants, toddlers, and families in a range of settings. The program is designed for licensed mental health clinicians, credentialed early intervention (EI) providers, child development specialists, health professionals, and family support specialists with three years of experience in these fields.
This program trains you to identify, intervene in, or collaborate with others to address troubled parent/child relationships and to work with children with social/emotional behavioral concerns. You will also be prepared to implement a relationship-based approach in programs and practice and to mentor others in the infant/family field.
This two-year program includes course work taken primarily in the evenings, an internship, and clinical supervision.
A limited number of partial scholarships are available for students enrolling in this program. No separate application is required to be considered for this scholarship.
